Leuven Pride

Leuven Pride came down the Vaartkom on Saturday: drummers, dancers, furries, parents and two older people on a mobility scooter.

We walked a little, watched a little and mostly took photos. @leuvenpride invited everyone to walk proud, visible and determined, and the people in these photos did exactly that.

Grey sky, full colour. Fans in the air, flags worn as capes, a giant rainbow flag laid across the road, a zebra crossing turned into a dance floor. UZ Leuven’s cargo bike in full bloom, and KU Leuven’s LGBTQIA+ staff group walking under their own name. And one banner, carried by parents in Dutch, French and English: acceptance begins in the family.
