Fika Lab

There are cafés you visit, and cafés that feel like being let into someone’s home. Fika Lab is the second kind. It is a Swedish-style coffee bar on Brusselsestraat in Leuven, run by two sisters, Fien and Kato, and one of them is a trained herbalist who will blend your tea from the jars on the shelf while you sink into the green velvet sofa. We came for a quick flat white and stayed the whole afternoon, plants everywhere, a book in hand, nowhere to be. Some places you recommend. This one we just quietly want to keep for ourselves.
